Historically a downtown defined by single-family homes, Brighton's city officials and planners have approved hundreds of denser multi-family projects recently.

New apartments and townhouses will bring greater density to land on the Mill Pond and other sites close to downtown shopping and dining.

"It's a combination of interest from developers and the city's new master plan ... to get more residential downtown, more people in downtown, more urban living in that area that is walkable," Brighton Community Development Director Mike Caruso said.
